Hello everyone! I have a silly question I want to ask. Does anyone pre-fab Explorer axles for our Rangers? You know, 31-spline with disc? You see, my problem with just going to the local yards and pulling a rear end is kind of difficult for me. I'm an old disabled vet and I only have one truck too boot. So lifting that sucker in and out of a truck is hard and then if I have the original rear end out and I'm trying to haul around the Explorer axle to a fab shop for welding, it's really hard. Sorry about all that. I guess that sounded kind of wussy. But anyway, any ideas and help would be great! Thanks everyone!! -J

I don't reccomend trying to move those axles around by yourself, regardless of your level of fitness, they're heavy. try to find a couple of young whippersnappers with muscles locally that want to learn something. There are also a bunch of guy's on here that are always ready to lend a hand, depending on your location.

how about your local high school, tech school, or community college that has an automotive department? maybe one of them is looking for a project and in your situation, they might take your truck on for thier course work. just a thought.
i'm an older vet as well, and i feel your pain as i'm starting to feel effects of things done years ago. best of luck to you!

Thanks everyone for your help and ideas!!!! I'll use them in my little upgrade. Take care and thank you again!

Don't mean to "hijack" the thread>>>
