Hi, from Puerto Rico.
96 ranger clutch question.

I got the 302 on and manual trans from a 89 mustang. All I need is to figure out the clutch, I know about a kit to convert from cable to hyd in mustang 67 and since I’m using the trans from the mustang the bottom part of that kit will work but I’m not so sure about the master cylinder since my Ranger was automatic. Any lithe on this matter will be appreciated

You'll need to swap the pedals with one from a manual transmission Ranger and then bolt in a Ranger master cylinder. Then figure out a line adapter to the slave kit for the T-5 as the Ranger master cylinder used a hard plastic line to the Ranger slave.

I used a master cyl from an '89 Ranger, 2.9, with a 7/8"bore. This was available in other years, I'm quoting this one for reference. Depending on what year you get the pedal assembly from, you may want to review my build thread on RPS for tips on modding the clutch master mount.

(pre-'94 master bolt to firewall, '95 and later clip into the pedal bracket. I used an old style slave in the new style bracket)
Aftermarket Master cylinders may be tricky, due to the angle of the Ranger firewall.

I used an external slave cyl for an '83/'84 Diesel ranger. 3/4" bore. The Ranger from same years with 2.8 is similar, with a different mount pattern.
I used these adaptors to go from the Ford fittings on the master/slave to -3 AN braded line.

Made a bracket for the slave out of scrap angle iron

Many slaves can be used, ones from an '80-ish Nissan/Datsun 280 are common.
There are kits available:

Thanks for the info ,that is all i need to finish, apriciated

You're welcome. You may or may not know, bleeding the Ford clutch systems, for some reason, is a huge pain. The only way I had success was taking it appart, filling the slave with fluid, making sure there was no air at all left in it. Then I connected my clutch line while holding the slave in the engine bay, being careful to not introduce any air. Then I fed the line and slave down to the transmission. Best of luck.
