96 2.3l starting issue

A few days ago i went in and hooked up the wires for my OHC. As per the instructions, i disconnected the - battery terminal and ended up breaking the terminal itself. No problem, went and got a new terminal clamp and connected it. Now when i start the truck after sitting over nite or after work it struggles to start. the Idle is low and i get a put put put like it wants to start. If i press the gas during this, it starts up but idles ruff for about a minute or two. Im flabbergasted

anyone have any suggestgions ?

Sorry, the OHC is the overhead console. Shuld have been a bit more clear
