Hello everyone im not a ranger owner yet but looking at a 96 ranger 4x4 with the 2.3L engine in it.I was wondering how good these motors where? I read up they have 112 horsepower and it weighs 1000 pound lighter then my k5, would actually possibly be trading my 86 k5 blazer for the ranger Any insight from you guys would be great, thanks

They're good?

Honestly, you cant spend 15 minutes browsing the 2.3L section? lol

The 2.3L 4x4s are hard to come by. I wouldn't mind a 2.3L turbo swap if I had one. You're looking at 250-300hp in a light 4x4 with 25+mpg.

Well spent an hour or so in the 4 banger section, saw alot of problems listed there, i basically was looking for anyone who had a ranger with the 2.3 L that could just give me an honest opion about how trail worthy they are.I know it is no power house being a 4 cylinder and all. Owned a ranger with a 3.0 in it, i liked it, it was 2 wd drive though so it sucked in the snow.Im not sure what year it was, would have hoped to find some real info about the 2.3.
