My old ranger (no longer own it btw:sad:) is giving its current owner some problems. Apparently, after running the truck and getting the engine warm, the truck won't start if it is turned off and cranked again. The truck will turn on fine every morning, but after running it, it will take a while to get it back on. I experienced this issue when I owned it, but it only happened like 5 times and I don't remember if this happened to me when the engine was warm or not. Apparently it is now doing it everyday and it is getting to the point where the truck won't start after shutting it down for 30 minutes.

Any suggestions? I've read that the coolant temperature sensor is a start. Is it?

My truck does this too and I have been wondering why. Let me know if you have any more ideas.

some info on the old truck? next time it won't start, find out if it has spark and/or fuel.

My 93 truck had a similar issue and a new ignition module cured it. My module is mounted on the intake manifold, I am not sure if the 95 model year is the same way or not.

is there any word on this issue, my 95 4.0 2wd just started doing te same thing the only code is the temp sensor is not up to par to get closed fuel loop,,any help would be apreciated

ohhh btw i have fuel at the schrader valve and i do have spark the only way it will start when warm is to push accelerator to floor and keep cranking till it starts

make sure the coolant is full and then replace the temp sensor

if the truck isn't up to operating temp and you do a KOER test it will throw a code for the temp sensor(at least it does on my 94).

My 94 ranger with 98 2.5 long block does this too exept mine will restart after about 10-15 minutes. It likes to do it when I fuel up espechaly. I am running all the 94 electronics & sencors.

My 1995 4banger has this problem too, but mine starts after 3 or 5 minutes, thats enough time for my girl to get pissed and look for another ride

Mine was the pcm relay and starts good with no problem

for people with this problem-> you want to test for fuel and spark when it does not start. ..for the poster above he would have had neither fuel or spark
