95 Ranger questions

My neighbor has a 95 Ranger, extended cab, 4x4, 3.0 auto with like 215xxx miles or somewhere around there, the body is a little beat up and has some dents, not sure on the interior, he paid 1200$ for it. He offered to sell it to me, it runs and drives by the way, I dont want to offend him with to low of an offer. I would make this my trail rig only, and I can put a 302 in it, but how much longer should I expect the 3.0 to go? A little advice?

If it has a good service history then that engine could go a bit longer. But if the rest of the truck is a little rough then....the engine could be too. Don't pay more then 1200 I'll tell you that much lol.
