Hello, long time lurker - first time poster:

I have a 95 2wd 5sp with stock 215/70/14's and found a set of 16" rims for sale off a 2007 FX4 being sold somewhat locally to me for what I think is a decent deal. My truck is my daily driver and never sees anything offroad. I currently have it running on some Firestone Winterforce tires which I really like and it has a 3.42 rear end. I was wondering what sort of tire sizes would work on these newer rims without them being to tall to really throw out the speedometer. I wouldn't mind something taller looking to help fill in the wheel wells but don't want to run into gearing problems, clearance issues, really mis-calibrated speedometer, etc and don't really know enough. Would something like a 225/65/16 fit onto these rims?

Thanks for any and all assistance, this forum has been a massive source of information for me throughout the last 2 years as I constantly tweak and upgrade it bit by bit. Thanks again!

These are the rims im looking at:

I have gone through the wheel and tire guild but after reading it and reading online elsewhere im a little confused to put it lightly. Will these fit onto a 95 2wd ranger? Does anyone know how wide they are? Would something like a 225/65/16 fit them or would they be to narrow?

Thanks again, I have to let the seller know asap if im buying!

I have a 93 2wd with the 4 banger and run 30 inch tires with no problem with 3.45 gears. No rubbing and very little power loss

depends on the look u want
a 55-60 tire would look better imo

Thanks for the help everyone! I don't mind having to do a little on the fly math to figure out my speed (like knowing my real speed is actually 10% higher than the indicated speed), I can still do that kinda of math.:D

I just really want the 16" rim look more than a wider tire contact patch and $300cdn for all 4 rims off an 08 truck seems like a good deal from what I can tell especially around here. So I guess I kinda need to know for sure that the rims will actually mount to my trucks hubs without an issue? And would a tire in the 225-235/60/16 range mount to these rims? He is located 3hours away and don't care to make a 6hours round trip for no reason. The stock tire that came on these is a 255/70/16 and I don't want something that wide not only for rolling resistance but also for the added cost for new rubber compared to a narrower 225-235 width. I'm coming from a 215/70/14 which I think handles fairly well, so im sure anything would be an upgrade. Thanks again for the help!

Go over here and play with your sizes: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

The 225/60/16 is VERY close to your original diameter.

Might not be the most "common" size, so play around with the numbers till you find an affordable size close to your original diameter to keep the speedo close.

Those rims will fit your truck.
