95 Ranger No Start

95 Ranger 4.0 (Was Originally 3.0 Previous owner mod) Truck is a bit of a frankenstien but never had any problems until this morning go out to go to work. No start. I jumped the solenoid on the fender. I have a click noise. Changed out with an old spare. No joy. Battery is good. Terminals pretty clean. When I turn the key to actual start position (Past run) Lights go out. I also hooked a jumper from battery to small post on solenoid and hit the key. Still nothing. This bypassed the neutureral safety switch right? I am thinking now its the starter. Anyone? Battery has 13 volts.

It does sound like the starter. What's the voltage when the starter is trying to engage. You can also smack the starter while someone trys to crank it.

Sounds just like what mine did its somewhere on the ground im allmost sure somthing might of came loose on the ground side check it out...

NEW PROBLEM I was under the truck to remove starter and check things out. Had a small wire maybe 10 guage just hanging so I found a spot on the starter it looked like it should go. Actually on the solenoid (on top of starter) Plugged it in hit the switch now i have some random clicking noise under the dash near the gas pedal no head lights and no radio, and it still wont start. I am continuing with my starter removal now can anyone tell me how the wires should go on the starter? And what to do about head lights, radio, etc I m thinking a relay. I checked all fuses nothing blown. soooooooooooo? Sugestions please
