95 ranger clutch issue when stopped

When ever i am at a complete stop, i have to hold down the clutch pedal for about 4 seconds before it will go into any gear. If i'm in motion it shifts flawlessly through all gears. But if i stop and put it into neutral and let off the clutch, the next time i push it down it will take about 4 seconds to slide in any gear including reverse. I just bought the truck a few days ago so i don't know its history but everything seems well maintained. Can someone let me know what this is and if it will cause major issues down the line?

1995 Ranger XLT 2.3L SOHC 2WD 5spd 169,000 miles.

Throwout bearing, I wouldn't stress about it too much, just be aware of it. Whenever you replace the clutch next, replace it then. A new bearing come with most clutch kits.

Does it drop into a higher gear easier? Worn synchros can cause that. If the input shaft keeps spinning it will cause that.

Before you do anything change the fluid in the transmission. You would not believe how few people actually change manual transmission fluids in their trucks. You might find the difference startling. The truck probably needs it done anyway.

It wont go into any gear easier than the other. at a complete stop it takes 3-5 second before it can slide into gear. it feels like something is blocking it. once it does slide in, shifting from that point is perfect. it only happens when i shift to a gear from neutral after letting off the clutch pedal.

My truck will do the same thing.... Bugs me but I don't have the money to put it in the shop right now...
