My truck seems to be fine after starting and driving, but at random times my truck will decide it's going to idle at 2200 rpms....... also idles fast with the AC on but i doubt 15-1700 rpms is normal........

I can't really think of anything, if it's a simple fix i can handle but replacing things is out of the question.

I'm building a 302 right now and i'm not sinking any money into her anymore, not even for the oil change she needs desperately or the valve cover gasket that's bad lol

I cleaned the IACV and the throttle body. Replaced the tps from another ranger I have. Even backed the idler all the way off and it still wants to idle around 1100 constantly now :bawling:

well if you are not going to spend $11 for an oil change........idont think you will get your truck fixed. Most repairs cost some money

even a can of maf cleaner cost $6

the idle is controlled by the computer not the idle screw.
you have a vac leak - as said check the pcv valve.

Wouldn't a vac leak be more consistant. I tink it could be many things from a fuel fter to a bad ects

A vaccum leak would cause high consistant idle and would be obvious. I adjusted the idle screw because for some reason it was screwed in too far and actually was affecting the idle. It's not a vaccum leak, i've pushed 25psi for over an hour on a vaccum tester.

It's not a mandatory fix, it's just annoying and i would like to know what would be causing it. As i said, I'm building a 302 right now and should be done in about a week so i'm not sweating the small stuff if it's not bugginh me, which this is.
