I have a 95 ranger that I was planning on prerunning but the cost and time is just too much! So I wanna drop it and have some things planned for it but have a few questions. Im looking into a DJM kit. 3" drop dream beams and a 4" flip kit. I know I can get away with running 20's on a 30 series tire at stock height. I wanna know if i can get away with it on a 3 inch drop without having tire rub when turning. Im even thinking about going bigger to 22's and possibly a bigger drop. I have a buddy that says with the right offset you can get away with it. He knows his stuff pretty well, he build custom cars and has a chevy ss crew cab sitting 3 inches off the ground on 26's. just looking for a second opinion and options on this and possible pics.

i don't think you can. I'm running djm dream beam kit and i have 18's with 245/55's but let me double check that. Any way, i get rub when turning too tight on my front shock mount and i'm only about two inch's from rubbing the top of the fender well. I also get a rub on the inside of my tire on the sway bar, not horrible but it's there. I think If you went with a wider offset you may clear the inside but idk about the lip of the fender.

Also just my two cents but having driven my truck lowered and with lo profile tires, i ended up trying to stuff bigger and bigger tires in there because the ride really sucks running on basically rims and rubber bands. I think a 20' wheel would be the biggest you could go and even then may take some trimming. Best thing to do is just measure! or have your local discount tire do a test mount and see.

( I also am thinking about doing a prerunner haha, very true about the price. lol if i can ever save up some cash then we will see haha.):icon_thumby:

Thanks for the info! Ya I was asking the mechanic at my shop cuz I work at a customs shop. And if it comes down to cutting and welding here and there then no big deal. I have done plenty of that! Haha. Im not real worried about the ride as long as it looks good!!

(Ya I had a full front kit for my truck! +6 per side beams, radius arms, swing steering, all mounting brackets, and tranny x-member. Everything for a nice setup. Just need the expensive part "SHOCKS", then front clip and rims and tires. And it being my daily driver a kit like that isnt a weekend job. Alot of fabricating and things like that for shock mounts and engine cage! I have the perfect shop with CNC table, welders, and everything that my dad owns I just dont have the time and money right now! One day tho!!)

55 series is a huge tire for an 18, most people with 20s run like a 255/35/20 I wouldn't run anything bigger than a 40 series on an 18. You could get away with 22s but 20s would probably be the best way to go.
