what are you guys using for aftermarket headlight bulbs

my ranger is officially my winter truck and i want some powerful headlights bulbs to go with the new headlights i'm gonna find

what are you guys running and whats the top of the list bulbs to get?

I'm really happy with the Sylvania Silverstars. Much whiter light without the blue tint that is all the rage with the high school crowd.

any specific part number to fit ranger headlights?

i decided instead of replacing my factory headlights i'm gonna order aftermarket clears with clear corners.

Not sure of the actual Sylvania part # but they use the same numbering system as a factory bulb for your application. It's a 9007 bulb.

thanks man good info... anywhere specific i can pick these up? or just any auto parts store

Blue light and white light is crap for winter... get some yellower, more stock-like bulbs... Honestly, you can't drive with white light at dusk or dawn, it just has no effect at all.

:agree: This is completely true ^^^

As an Alaskan where its dark about 70% of the year and snowy for most of that, yellow(er) lights are 100,000% better. I am looking for a decent set of the cheap yellow bulbs and I am getting my yellow fogs and some yellow film for my off road and driving lights.

Blue and white don't give any depth perception compared to amber/yellow lights

what kind of bulbs are those then... i'm tired of my stock bulbs not being bright i cruise down the road at night with my brights on for f..k sake and people don't even flash me lol.. not to mention i almost hit a deer last night due to my lights being poor... so i need brighter and better plain and simple

i should ad that i'm in northern alberta so it's very similar to alaskan weather and winters.

Yeah sounds like you need to clean your lenses, and even just run of the mill cheap bulbs would probably do some good cause after time the filiment on lights burns and the light will get dimmer and dimmer, usually they burn out but not all the time.

I also second some driving lights, my dad hates driving at night so I plan to get him some of the Hella 550's or 500's or something for his little v dub

I bought a set of headlights off ebay that look a lot better, but they still weren't all that great. Then I put silverstars in and it made quite a difference in brightness. I've never bought into the whole "change your bulb and it will be brighter" crap, but in my case, it did help a lot.

You want 9007ST, or you can try the SilverStar Ultra's for the same price, about $25 shipped on ebay, I dont know the part number but search for "9007 ultra silverstar"

my rear driver tail light has a hole in it from hitting a dryer and my driver side was hit and ran and my bumper was scuffed and my driver corner light now has a hole in it from that... so i'm just going to replace my heads and tails with lights off of ebay it's easier and will look nicer..
i will look for some sylvanias if that's what would suit me best since my truck is a 2 wheel drive and i have no fogs
