95 4x4 questions.

Hi. I am looking at a 95 Ranger 4x4 to purchase. The owner says the 4 wheel drive is currently inop. From what I can see in the pictures, it has a manual hub setup. I was wondering, what all there is to the 4 wheel drive system on the 95 rangers? Motor? Switch? What all would I be wanting to look at to diagnose? Thanks for the help.

Chances are; the shift motor is broken. If this is the case, it is a real easy home repair - if it is this!. Manual hubs should rule the hubs out. There is a really useful guide on here under technical that will explain all the diagnostics you will need.
