--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

help!, i have a 5speed 2.3 ranger for a short time it has been leaking fluid, it did run dry once and i bleed it but it was not the same. altho i have not seen it drip out i need to add some to the resivor from time to time, this morning when i push the cluch down it was hard and did not go to the floor i can put it in gear but it wont catch i bleed the system through the bleeder and the pedal is fine for about 15-20 times than back to hard i am not that famillar with tranny and just like to know whitch way to start , air?-slave cyl?-master ? does anyone know what might be causing this? thanks, bob

Bad slave cylinder. And if you let it run dry once then you need to bench bleed the master as well.

so i should start with the master cyl. first, the slave cyl is only 2 yrs old from aamco, yes i am cheep this thing has 367,000on it and i dont have alot o' time

if its leaking and there isn't brake fluid near the master cylinder, or on your carpet, then your slave is shot.

noticed , if i bleed the bleeder i get about 30 pumps out of it ten it goes hard again ,can not fix it now i am on the road so i have to make due now till i can get it home , just want to make sure before i pull the tranny put new slave in and the problem comes back,"bang head here"
