94 ranger

My 94 ranger started loosing ignition at 2000 rpm, it acts like it has a rev limiter. at 1500 rpm it runs ok. anything over that it cuts out and revs back up and down, , it does this in neutral or drive. I limped it home at 1500rpm.
any one have any ideas ?

my did the same my mass air was dirty. i unplugged mine till i cleaned it. it idled a little ruff and threw a cel but other than that its was fine. i drove like that for a couple weeks and had now problems.

Thanks, I will try cleaning the sensor.
