I was wondering if anyone has replaced one before? I need to find the parts cheap. There is not anything left but a small piece of metal on the spring and a small amount of hanger left on the frame? I am thinging there is a hanger and a mount needed. I was thinking about replaceing both sides? Where might I find a kit and anything else that I should pay attension to? I would not mind replaceing the rubber bushings but not sure where to get cheap ones. I am still looking on other places but was thinking if I posted I could get some feedback. It is a completely stock setup, just trying to get it ready for deer hunting.

Front or rear mount for the leaf spring?

LMC truck sells repops..............depends on what you call cheap I recon:icon_confused:

It is the rear of the rear springs. I have found both sides, hanger brackets and shackles for a little over 100. shipped.

I went ahead and ordered the parts from here
http://www.rockauto.com
I think they are reasonable it was 102 and some change. I was looking on ebay and found them. I hope they have a good reputation. :annoyed: I will find out soon. Thanks for the answer so quick.

I would plan on replacing everything front and rear. My front mount went and I thought about just doing it since money was tight. I decided to go a head and do them all and I am very glad I did. All of my mounts were in bad shape. One actually looked good till I put some pressure on it and it folded like a piece of paper. I ordered almost all of my stuff from rockauto.com. They were out of stock on something so I went with LMC for those pieces.

Thanks makes me feel better knowing some else has had good luck with them.
I will crawl under it and give it a good once over. I bet your right on those front ones.

Thanks for the new site and the info. Nice work up.

No problem, glad to help...

I wish mine said made in usa instead of made in china. I will replace the front ones next summer and will try to get made in the usa ones. :annoyed:
I did get one side replaced it was gone, 4 pieces about 1 1/2 by 3" each was all that was left of the hanger and the shackle. I used a drill bit to drill the rubber bushing on the spring eye, only way to get it out. I drilled and wiggled the bit around until it eat the rubber out. I was able to pry the bolt out then. I will sawzall the head and the nut off the other side then drill it all the way through with a zip bit. I messed around with the side I got done for about 2 hours before I started drilling. I was wondering if there was a better way?:icon_confused:
I will say the truck is back to normal.:icon_thumby:
Thanks for the help it really makes a difference.

I primarily used an air grinder. I chopped off as much of the old hanger as I could, then ground off the rivet heads on the hanger side. The hanger remnants either popped off or came off with a little prying. Most of the rivet ends came out of the frame with a hammer whack, but there were a few that need extra coaxing. One had to be drilled hollow before a hammer blow popped it out. The hardest part was getting an advantageous angle on the grinder because I did the job with the truck bed on. The next hardest part was getting enough leverage on the torque wrench, mainly for the same reason.

I was fortunate in that the bolts pretty much came out intact. One gave some trouble but with PB Blaster and a little patience it eventually came out.

I may have to do the front hangers eventually but they can wait for next summer at the soonest. They too are available from Stengel:
