My Ranger is possessed.
So far I have replaced the Ignition switch, battery, fender wall solenoid, starter solenoid, IAC, new starter in February and new alternator in March.
I have also cleaned the MAF Sensor and replaced both EEC and Fuel relays
I put in a new battery yesterday and it started like there were no issues. Today it only turns over. It sounds as though there is no spark, or there is a short somewhere. This behaviour has been going on for 2 months now. The problems, or lack of starting ability, usually starts after alot of rain.
I've let it sit overnight or for a few dry days and it would start without hesitation. It would operate normally. Then without any warnings, it would not start. I've found no codes except for 114 and 116 which are to be expected. I did get 172 yesterday but that never reappeared after clearing the code.
94 Ranger, 4.0 engine, 4x4
I require info on common points to check for corrosion on wires that provide correct conditions to operate.
