I have a problem with my 94 ranger 4.0 5 speed missing when making left turns. It only does it when you are going into left tuns and are going kinda fast it cuts out just like when you hit the top speed limiter. I have no idea where to start troubleshooting. If the fuel pump was going out why would it only do this in a left turn under acceleration. I had over half a tank of fuel when I noticed this the first time. The only codes were 157 Mass Air Flow signal is/was low or grounded 522 neutral safety and a 542 Fuel pump open, bad ground or always on - - Power / Fuel Pump Circuits. I am open to all suggestions.

Check the grounds. It could be that when you making left turn the wire is pulling away from the grounding point due to a bad connection.

I'm just spit balling here, it's a new one on me. Good luck.
