'94 ranger CAI

Hello, I have a '94 Ranger XLT with the 4.0L, and I have been looking everywhere, and cannot find a cold air intake that was made for my truck. I was just wondering if there are any other '94 ranger owners out there that found a CAI made for an earlier or later ranger/explorer that will fit the 4.0L on a '94? My neighbor had a '95 ranger, (honestly, can't remember if it was a 4-cyl or V6), and I remember he had a CAI on it. Thanks guys.

you can buy an adapter off of e-bay for like 10 bucks that fits to your mas. you might what to seal it with a gasket. i made mine from a sheet of gasket material i bought at my local auto part store...then go pick out a filter that will fit the adapter and there you go. i took it a step further and bought an intake tube from a newer ranger/explorer. I think mine came off of a 2000 explorer. this will put you filter right behind the passenger side headlight. then i connected some flexible pipe with an air duct i made, that directs COLD air from the front of my truck to the filter. just be willing to play around and see what works the best. Oh and don't let some of these dudes on here beat you up over wanting a cold air intake. If you are looking for significant power gains well you probably won't notice a big difference if any difference at all, but it makes your truck sound cooler and you don't have to buy another filter.

Yeah I was researching a bit about cold-air-intakes, but found that the exposed ones tend to make your engine lose power because it uses warm-air from the engine bay, so I guess I'll try an explorer/ranger years and see what fits, and make an enclosure that leads to an opening, something ram-air like. Thanks
