will a 1994 4x4 front axle blot in to a 1990 ranger?

Search bud. It's been asked millions of times. But yes it is pretty much bolt in depending on your t-case or amount of lift.

twitch t-case and lift have nothing to do with it i believe cause the 90 and 94 have the same axles unless it still has the 7.5 which i believe some still did at that time but then again it's still a bolt in swap

The T-case DOES have something to do with it.
"1990 Ranger" can mean a ranger made from September 89 to November 89

OR it can mean one made December 89 or later...

And that switch determines the original axle (dana 28 for earlier, dana 35 for later) and the T-case (BW 13-50 for earlier or 13-54 for later)

And considering that the the D28 was always paired with the 13-50
and the D35 was ALWAYS paired with a 13-54.... but that isn't the end of it...

Because in 1993-94 the D28/35 "Hybred" is another possibility... and it has a different "snout" length.

How can I tell whether my 94 has a hybrid? I'm pretty sure the rear is an 8,8

As the D28/35 "Hybred" from 1993-up was made in two ratios,
3.45 & 4.10.

I've heard that there were 3.73 "hybreds" but I've never seen one...

and I have looked.

The "REAL D35" was made in 3.27, 3.55 & 3.73.
There were 4.10 "True" D35's made but after 1990-92 they are incredibly rare.

The first thing to look at is what engine you have... the Hybred was not factory installed with a 4.0 engine
