I have a chirping sound coming from my engine. It happens occassionally usually when I am driving into a parking lot & there are a lot of people around. Anyway I have been told that it is the cam sprocket and that this is a discontinued part. Is there a source for these? If not what is the alternative (if any)? Thanks.

Uhhh... whoever told you that? go to them immediatly and deliver them a bitch slap.

Your engine has a timing chain, the chain sprocket is inside the timing cover
behind the water pump.

It can no more make a "chirp" than an elephant can MeeOww like a cat.

Yoiu have a belt chirp or a bad bearing in one of the idler or tensioner pullies on the OUTSIDE of your engine.
