I have a 94 ford ranger ext cab 6 ft bed 4x4, It has a bend frame, I need to find a frame for it so what year frames are the same? I found a 96 ranger 2wd ext cab 6 ft bed, will this frame work is there and difference in it being 2wd instead of 4x4?

There are differences in the front of the frame and in the engine bay crossmember caused by the difference in 2wd and 4x4. Nothing insurmountable. The front of the frame can be spread and the crossmember swapped. It's just more work.

Okay sweet cause the only frame ive found thats in decent shape is a 2wd frame now im fine with a little extra work, so swaping crossmembers is easy but explain wat u mean by spreading the frame, cause its 50 bucks for this frame so its a good deal

Will a 4wd frame from a 89 to 92 style ranger is it the same as the 94 4wd frame?

AFAIK the only dif is the bumper mounting.

ok so the 4wd frame is the same on the 89 to 92 as the 93 to 97 and the 95 frame i found just needs the front spread so should i just go with the 95 frame i found that is 2wd and swap it to 4wd? or should i use an 89 to 92 frame or are all these frames the same? im confused lol cause u both said different things, im goin tomorrow to get a frame so if i dont get a reply till tomorrow morning ill just get the 95 2wd frame?

The only difference between the 89-92 4x4 frame and the 94 is the front section of the frame where the bumper mounts. The 89-92 does not have the crumple zone and the 93+ does. Body mount and suspension wise it is all the same.

The 2wd frame will require the engine cross members be swapped, which is held in with rivets and welds.

Okay the frame is rusted out on the 2wd 95, but I found the mazda version of the ranger 4wd , is the frame the same on mazdas as the rangers , the guy at the junkyard says they are and I looked at it and it looks the same, so verify this for me?

Yes, Mazda and ranger frames are the same.

The frame got crumple zones in '91. 89-90 did not have crumple zones.
