Hey guys I gotta 1994 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 (all stock except for listed below)

Premium Locking Hubs
Dana 35 Front Axle
8" suspension lift (to be honest, i really dont know what brand the suspension/shocks are...comes with buying the truck already done up, which i didnt really want to do)
3" body lift
38.5" Interco Thornbird TSL's

not very truck smart, still trying to learn so im not sure what the rear axle is...its stock though as far as i know

Now to my question, I wasnt really sure of the background of the brand name suspension lift. Just want different opinions I guess?

I may be gettin a new set of tires not sure what kind yet though, most likely 35's or 36's and I wanted to get new suspension/shocks prefer procomp, but whatever is not cheap, not the best, and still affordable.

should have ranger 8.8 27 spline, but it could have been swapped for an explorer 31 spline, look at the tag that is on the bolt holding the cover on.

28 spline, not 27.. but yea it should be the 8.8

show us some pics of the lift kit you have under the truck now.and we can proably tell you what it is.and if you really need to swap it out.
you "may" have a 6inch kit, with spacers under the srpings, or 8 inch coils stuck in a 6inch kit....

for a drop bracket kit skyjacker is one of the better kits.beefy brackets etc

here is a skyjacker 4-6inch kit...

the 4.0L is the only motor that got the 8.8 28 spline rear axle from the facoty.

the 3.0 and 2.3 both got the 7.5 28 spline.

not sure exactly what a drop bracket kit is....im still trying to learn all the stuff about it, thats why i didnt want to buy a truck with the modifications already on it, i will try to post pics soon, but as for right now i dont have a camera

If you have an 8" kit, then you more than likely have a Skyjacker kit as Skyjacker was the ONLY company to manufacture a 8" kit. The brackets will NOT be red like the ones pictured above either as Skyjacker made their 8" kits with black brackets.

As far as shocks, go with the Skyjacker Hydro's. They are a good shock and perform well. They run about $33 each from places like Summit Racing and Jegs.

Yea, I was just under my truck about an hour ago (not that I really had much of a clue at everything I was looking at) but the bracket isnt red, its black, the springs are red, the shocks are solid white, no brandnames/picture/labels, and have red shock boots....Thats about all I gathered lol

Unless somebody painted them then it sounds like Skyjacker. Agreed that pictures would help quite a bit. On top of the rear axle where the leaf springs mount, is there more than one lift block?

Yeah 8"=Skyjacker. If that is all suspension. It looks like it is from the pics in the thread below...

He does not have Extended radius arms, from what I can tell from the pics here:

Do you know if it has a body lift at all? (it doesn't look like it from the pics...)

Looks like a Skyjacker Class 1 kit. Red Coils, Black Brackets, Radius Arm drop brackets rather than ext. arms. Stacked blocks in the back.(Factory 2" and a 6" maybe??)

I think its only got 1 block in the back, I didnt really look for that, I was mainly looking at the shocks. 8" Suspension and a 3" Body

Dont have a phone to take pictures right now, but I should be getting a new one soon and I will show, and it was definately not painted.

if you only have a 2" rear block, then you also probably have 6" lifted leafs. I think they come standard in the 8" kit

Im kinda trying to get rid of the stacked block, but dont really know what to replace it with to keep it from sagging in the back..:icon_confused:
