Ok so I have 1999 Ranger with the BW 1354 electronic shift transfer case (turn knob). I am looking to get a manual shifting BW 1354 Transfer case and I found a guy that is selling his but it is out of a 1994 ranger... well actually I found a guy that wants to buy mine, and I want to trade mine for a decent stick one and his friends selling the stick one... anyways.

1. Will my 99 T-case work with his 94, reason I ask is because I read that the older ones have a hole for the speedometer and new ones have it in the axle and also the old one has some sort of sensor?

And 2. Will the manual shift T case work for me with little to no modification, and will the mounting hardware bolt right up to my existing transmission?

Thanks

You'll have to look at your trans for mount points.

99 speedo uses the VSS signal from the rear axle, so you are good there.

it should work you will prolly have to plug the hole since you won't need it with your transmission. the biggest mod would be getting the shift linkage through the cab floor

As fa as I'm aware yes. The only issues are going to be if you transmission has the mounting point in the side of the case. And as for the floor you (like my 98) should have a removable plate, then just grab the floor plate from a Ranger with the 5 speed and manual t-case. Still available from the dealer if need be, just ask for one out of a 2003 LII

Only if you want the indicator light to work in the dashboard, otherwise it is just going to blink the generic 4x4 lights error code.

If you can tolerate the blinking it's fine. Plus electrical tape is cheap until you get a chance to do the wiring.

the front driveshaft hookup is different.

It's possible to put a 1990-97 manual t-case in a '98-up if you take the simple step of locating a 1995-96 front driveshaft

Just for clarification, you need the front driveshaft from a 95-96 exploder, not ranger.

Alright Cool thats not a problem.

That may be a little more difficult to find but still do able, does it matter if its an electric or manual T case I get it from?

Hey man, depending on when you do this swap I may be able to give you a hand sourcing a driveshaft. Let me know if you can find one around you, if not I'll check out around here for you.
