94 b4000 axle swap/offroad build

i think the ex would be the best family wheeler for sure but considering it is the family wheeler id keep the dana 35 and 8.8 under it because your not going to be as hard of trails with it nothing over a 35" tire for sure.

so keep the 1/2 tons under the pickup for the more hardcore stuff. at least thats what id do :dunno:

yeah but having two wheeler's is kinda outta the question. i would definately want to build the family wheeler to the same point as the pickup, the last thing i would want its to be broken or stuck with the family knowing it woulda never happend in the other truck. so all the goodie's would most likely make there way one the explorer in the end, not to mention upkeep and all. it's up in the air at this point in time I still dont like the thought about all the glass as I have a tendency of breaking it.

Oh and BTW ballistic order still not shipped, called and they said half the stuff was still outta stock, kinda funny last week when i called they said the last item was bein cut out at that time. HHHMMMM. so there shippin me a a bunch of different size bracket's that i'll have to grind to fit. As I said before i wish ruffstuff had the bracket's i was lookin for. i'll be calln them next time to see if they can make em.

thats too bad, Ive heard lots of bad things about ballistic shipping/customer service lately.

If you are worried about broken glass on the Ex. then you could always do one like my buddy.

that's pretty sweet but with how much mud is around here would look like a long cold day.

i ahev seen ex's where they move the rear hatch up so its the same as that one but still all inclosed :dunno:

yeah it's all up in the air at this time. i have my truck right now so i'll continue workin on that if i find a deal on an explorer then we'll see.

On a side note i am extremely frustrated with ballistic right now.

Thank you ballistic fabrication for making me a Ruff stuff customer for life. I will never deal with ballistic again and will highly recommend anyone concidering using them to avoid it if at all possiable. i have talked with them 3 time's toady and still cannot get a straight answer! everytime it's something different and they have told me each time that they would call back withing 10 min's it's goin on another 45 min wait and i am bout to call them back. I am highly considering canceling my order alltogether

well after last night's fiasco woke up to below zero temp's and blowin snow like a mo fo. work is limited to EMERGENCY'S only. as it turn's out UPS is still runnin today.they droped off my package from rusty's, these thing's are BEEFY!!! (feel bad for ups runnin in this crap)

Amazing, Stuff allready arives from one company and part's will be "shipping" out today from another. i placed the rusty's order after the other said order.

yea.. its been hovering between +5 and +10 here (celcius) its been sooo nice to be able to wear a t shirt outside again and then i woke up to snow again today:annoyed:

i wanted to finish up the fuel system on the samurai today and was wax buff and polish my f150 today oh well...

good to hear you already got the ruff stuff parts already did you order that last night? after leaving the msg on here saying that your cancelling the ballistic order?

how about i just come pick up your truck and then you'll have to build the ex. see what i did there? i made it easy for you! i made your choice for you! lol

ballistic order is on it's way recieved a trackin number. i had to call and switch a bunch of part's and cancel some do to being outta stock. I was gonna wait on some stuff and and ship what they had but they were gonna charge me more shipping. so i just canceled what they couldnt get me. and insted of gettin shock tab's that fit the axle. i should be gettin of bunch of 3 inch bracket's oh well no too hard to grind them to fit. just erk's me that no one could tell me what was goin on.

as far as givin you my truck you can have it!!! but i wanna take everything off that i might need for the explorer or any other project round here . i would cut the highlift mount out. cut the back of the cab off (possiable half cab) take the front bumper off. hood fender's door's grill(might need them for something) complete powertrain and drivetrain. interior. uhhh and prolly alot more. so let me know when you wanna come and get the frame rail's and butchered cab and box. hahaha

Jerk! Not the answer I expected... Lol jk man. I say keep the truck as is and build the ex and have both.. Idk why.. Bc if you build a "family wheeler" you'll build something you would even wheel alone. So I guess the ex is the better idea.. Sad tho, I really like your truck...

well if you do build the ex just dont have this one on the road then it doesnt cost much to keep it. and i d just wait to build the ex till later on you know?

I really like a good explorer build.. Like foxracin's

i only need one truck. i have WAY too much on my plate and in my garage to have two truck's for myself. as for takin the truck anywhere on the road it see's little to no road time as it is. i'm keepin my eye's open for a small enclosed trailer to haul the bike's and other random stuff that'll double as a camper as well (similar to what slo-vo) the minimal road time the truck see's to to haul dirtbike's or construction stuff when i redo stuff at the house. so an SUV would suit me just fine. as said above i dont like that it weigh's more but what do you do? if I could just find a 4 door ranger ide be happy. there all over the place in jamaica why cant i have one!
