94 b4000 axle swap/offroad build

No need to wax my truck, you would be just polishing a turd.

So how are the 3.50 gears doing for you, Im suprized you havent made a doubler case for it yet.

3.50's SUCK. i cant wait to swap gears (and clutch) this winter. i dont think i'm gonna go for the doubler. just putting that much more stress on driveshaft's and u-joint's in the future i may do a doubler but i will be buying cromo axle shaft's and custom driveshafts at that same time.

If money allows i would like to put in some nice driveshafts this winter as well. 1 less thing to worry about. i also am gonna be doing some tweaking to the suspension. get her ready to put some air under the tire's.

What gears you plan on going with?

i plan on goin with some 5.13's.

wheeled for a while on saturday (7 hours to be exact) did a big loop and covered alot of ground. tail's were extremely dry even tho we were gettin poured on by rain at the time. no pic's turned out at all. had a great time tho.
this morning my brother called me to see if i wanted to go fishing on a lake that is only accessible by modified 4wd's. we fish here quite often and the lake produces some really nice bass and pike. so decided would give it a go. we got there and pulled out the boat we have stashed back there. and hit-er bout 30 mins in the trolling motor died so we paddled back to shore and called it a day mind you we allready had 4 bass and a pike on the stringer. after we got everything packed back in the truck i mentioned that "I bet I can drive accross this cove". he replied well let's see made it just over half way accross and the pictures will speak the rest. for all the greenies out there this lake is not considered "wet lands" as it is a man made lake used for cooling water and watering roads at the mine. dont ask how fish got in there.

Now thats the kinda offroading im talking about and you also show me why i need a winch. Looks like you need to get a filter on your snorkle too.

Looked like you got your feet wet. Lol

See I feel no need to drive thru water like that... Regardless I'm gonna get my axle vents and stuff up to higher places

I do. I want to drive mine through the nasty swampy muddy stuff.

its much fun! also just vent the diffs its cheap insurance

all breather's are rerouted pretty high. high enough that if my waist get's wet my breather's will be o.k. not so much my computer tho.

OH and BTW i didnt feel the need to drive thru it. just wanted to :)

That is something I need to do soon. Make all my breather tubes longer.

extended breather's arent the end all fix all. even with them when constantly going thru deep mud/water it is necissary to regularly change fluid's. which suck's the big one with the 9'' next time it is apart i intend to put a drain plug in. it's amazing that even with new seal's and what not water still find's it way into thing's. but atleast with them extended you know your not gonna have a milkshake after 1 pass. typically everyother month mine start to get slightly discolored

My front diff vent line is up to my master cylinder and my rear is the factory height of the lower frame. All my electroincs are mounted high enough that water would have to get to the top of the intake before I have problems but my power steering pump is the highest I could go without it getting water in it.

That reminds me...I need to make a new transmission breather tube...my old one is gone, saw that when I was changing the front seal the other day. Ill extend it to the engine bay.

might have found a line on some axles allready set up with 5.13's would be going from the 9'' rear to an 8.8 but oh well. guy is asking 100$ so i'll have to check them out.

hopefully if all else fail's i'll just order new
