94-95 mustang 5.0 headers

I use to own a Maverick 2 door, had its second engine and trans in it due to my aunt, who owned it at the time, thought that it was a highway runner blew out the first set.

Ended up selling it to my bro in law when I got my truck from my dad and the car ended up in a demo durby. The body was getting bad on it a years before my stepbrother ran over the top of it caving the roof in and when it was pushed back out, the damage was to much for me to fix.

Personally I loved the way they look, better then the mustangs of the time.

For you with the pre-98. no way would I think of the TM's, they have their place. Like said, go right for the Tri-Y's. I bet I have spent 1 1/2 hours over the years talking with Bob at T.M. and have a good idea of why the cost it that high. Want to know just ask.
Mavericks, sure thought a lot more of them than the Mustang !!'s. A 8" rear end from one fit just almost fine under my V-8 Courrier, good for 400 hp with a auto. Even on of the four doors caught the attention of a lot of people, setting records along the way. Wayne Gapp & Roush ran one back in '74' and cause NHRA to change their rules again. That's another long story.

The first Maverick I ever saw was one in my college parking lot. Never figured out whose it was but it was restored, a neat tan/gold color with black trim. Had fancy factory looking hoodscoops and dual exhaust. Very neat car.

Done wrong they can also look very goofy. :icon_confused:

Was it a grabber by chance? Mine is just a six banger three on the tree two door. If I fix it up I want to do a grabber replica but this things been sitting under a tree so long I'm not shure how the body is any more. The wife likes how the ranger runs so now she wants her own ride and she likes the ol yellow mav.

It might of been, I don't remember it saying Grabber though (maybe they don't, I am not much of a Maverick expert)

It was colored a lot like this, had black on the hood too:

85, I remember reading that the Maverick hood scoops you speak of are what inspired the hood of the 96-98 Cobra.

The ones with the hood scoops were the grabbers. Mine was the grabber green color that had faded to baby poop green

Mine was a straight six auto (a c5 was put in it due to the original engine and c4 were blown up).

I do regret getting rid of it but at the time couldnt fix it. Under body was starting go on it. After a year of my aunt owning it you couldnt tell that a little old lady had garage kept it all its life and only drove it in town.
