Hey guys. Gonna swap out my 3.0l for a 5.0l that is currently in 1994 f150 4x4 5zpeed. My ranger is a 1993 2wd 5 speed. Can I expect smooth sailing or what kinda problems should I prepare for?

Welcome to TRS :)

F-150 intake is too tall for Ranger engine bay, so you will need to use a different intake, 302 carb intake or Explorer V8 intake

1994 Manual trans(M5OD-R2) has the shifter farther forward than Ranger so you will need to cut a new hole in the floor pan and make a custom bent shifter to clear the dash.

Transfer case will fit but you will have to move motor/trans/transfer case over about 1/2-3/4", or cut frame rail

4WD conversion is harder
If you want to stay with 2WD then find a 1997 or later M5OD-R2 2WD, 1997 and up have shifter in the same place as Rangers M5OD-R1, well within 2" of the same place :)
But speedometer hook up will be an issue

1995/6 and up Ford trucks used electronic speedometers, 1993 dash uses speedo cable, if you keep 1994 transfer case then you will still have speedo cable hook up on transfer case

That's incredibly helpful. Thank you. Nothing worse than being down a vehicle longer than needed. Anyone ever swap in 4.9L In line 6 ? I have that combo in a 1995 f150 4x4 too. I'm a real fan of the 300's
