I am currently in the procces of puting a 302 4 speed stick in my 94 4x4 ranger. I am haveing troble the transfercase is to big just wondering if there is a smaller transfercase that will bolt to the 4 speed?

I took the grinder to the ears on the t-case and to the framerail and all fits just fine now. think there are pics in my buildthread.

yea i think i have the motor mounted to high i tried trimming the frame sime still doesnt fit and if it does the yoak hits the frame.

What type of motor mounts are you using? Is the trans centered? If you needed to, you could SLIGHTLY shift things towards the passenger side just enough to get the yoke away from the frame. do you have any pictures of your setup? any more info? that would help out a lot

sorry i dont currently have any pic and i built my own mounts and like where i have the motor and trans sitting am trying to get around moveing them. this is why i am wondering if there is a small v-8 transfercase. i know avanced adapters make a kit to use my stock case but it is pretty pricey.

im not sure the number it is the stock case in a 90 f-150 4 speed

Does it look like that?

Thats my case. It came behind the 4spd from my donor. BW1356. should have came behind 4spds after 1987 i believe.

Oh and now everything on the side of the case to the right of the yoke is now smooth. ground all of the ears and "junk" off and gained much needed room

Yea i am sure if i grind the ears off and move the tranny and motor mounts i can probibly make it fit. Just thought there would be a easyer way

np 205 transfer case gives u a ton more room the the BW case also a ton more weight enough to need its own mount

ok so if i find a np 205 it will bolt to the back of my 4 speed cand give me more room than the bw or whatever that huge thing is?

You need a notch in your adapter, as seen behind the vent hose in the above pic (post number 8). This notch is needed to clear one of the shift plungers of the 205.

anyone have any pics of a 205 bolted to the 4 speed in there ranger just looking for mount and shifter ideas.
