hi, i just got some 4in lift coils off marketplace, and just ordered 2in lift shackles. to fit the new coils in do i need to unbolt the radius arm/get extended ones? and are drop brackets necessary? im also debating between skyjacker 7000s and duff 70/30s. anything else needed would be appreciated

thanks

For 4" lift, you DO need drop brackets, or cut and re-weld the axle beams. You'll never get the geometry right to fix caster and camber, otherwise.

Pitman arm?

Highly recommended. If you haven't already, you should spend some time reading articles about the Ford TTB suspension and lifts in our tech library, HERE and also some articles about alignment on the steering and alignment page.

@quinn2
If you use extended radius arms with 4" coils you will need drop brackets for the axles but not the radius arms.

No question, dual 70/30's in front, with a Ranger you can get away with single 70/30 in the rear but dual all around is a marked improvement!!

Anything over 2” of lift in the front you really need drop brackets (or a cut and turn on the beams) and a pitman arm. Also longer shocks.

For the radius arms, you can use drop brackets but you really should have extended arms if you want any sort of flex in the front.

ok, i’ll order drop brackets, does anyone have a link to ones that one break the bank? and same with a pitman arm. i think ill wait to do radius arms till i have some more funds.

You want Skyjacker or James Duff for that stuff ideally…
