My credo
What's the worst that could happen?
I've done some searching and found a couple of posts (also youtube stuff), but nothing really answers my question), which is:

is it just a matter of lifting the front suspension high enough until the spring just separates and can then be removed? I'm sure it isn't that simple - bolts will need to removed and there may be a tab or something that needs to be messed with, but is that essentially all there is to it?

I'll be replacing the shocks as well. If there;s link to a previous thread, that would be great.

I'm trying to decide whether to pay to have it done or DIY it,

thanks in advance.

It's been awhile... but I remember the shock... the nut and spring retainer on the bottom... push the beam down and turn the spring out.

I did a couple of these and never used a spring compressor.

Rust might be an issue so heat on the lower nut might help.
