94 4x4 4.0 need help

when i crank it cold it will start and then die then start it again annd barely touch the throttle it will run and after it warms it will idle but when i give it over a 1/4 trottle its sluggish and plays catch up on response i changed the maf sensor helped a little i was wondering if maybe my fuel pump is not sending the correct psi or should i be checking something else

Possible. Get a fuel pressure gauge and test it.

If Fuel pump was failing you would start noticing a lack or power at highway speeds because pressure would drop off during higher demand.

I would clean the IAC(idle air control) Valve.
Just two bolts, spray cleaner and some elbow grease.

IAC Valve is controlled by the computer, computer should open it all the way for starting, so you can test this while it is unbolted.
After removing it, plug back in it's wires, turn on the key, it should open up all the way.
Turn off the key and it should close all the way, it is easy to see the 'plunger' inside move.
Plunger can get stuck and not move in and out easily cause issues like you describe.
Cleaning can fix this.
