my truck started making a high pitched squeal lately only when I'm going 60-65mph but today after a hard braking and grinding into third gear to slow down on the highway it started whining very loud in every gear but fourth so i drove it about 100 miles with the gears squealing at about 55mph and now there is a leak from transmission. Is is there a seal broken in my transmission or am i going to have to get a whole new tranny ?

probly after driving it that long, your going to need it rebuilt or a new one. it could have been that the leak is what caused the problem, the fluid cools the gears and when its gone, the gears overheat, when the gears over heat they break or melt. that is what happened to the T-5 i had in my mustang, i bought it knowing it needing repair. seal went bad, over heated, and when i got the case apart, the gears where perfectly smooth. but your problem could be fixable. i would take it to a local transmission shop (not cottman). could be just low on fluid and need a seal. you can check the fluid your self by unscrewing the drain/fill plug on the tranny, fluid should be right at the level of the plug(use your finger)

If i were to go get some more lubricant for that what would i be looking for in the auto store ...

i think they take regular ATF, i know its for automatics but i think thats what it takes. i would double check in the tech library, i think there is one for fluids. btw you might not want to gear down for engine braking when your having tranny problems. could do more damage.
