My gf has a 86 super cab and the bed is toast. She wanted a step side bed like my shadow ranger. But can't find one.I found a 93 splash bed for $400 but will it bolt up and fit right?I know the body lines are different but will the bed fit?The truck is a short bed. Thanks

Yes it will bolt up.

You will need the stepside filler hose, stepside bumper, and to wire in the taillights yourself.

The body lines wont match up, but you already know that.

This is just an Idea I've bounced around in my head that you might be interested in, and I don't know if anyone has tried to do it.

Take one step side bed, add 83-92 bedsides, cutdown a tailgate to proper width. That would give the start of a First gen ranger stepside, the hardest part in my figureing will be to find a way to cover the tires. My thoughts are to use a flare made for the old dually conversion kits, but I can't seem to find a source. You'd end up with a step side bed alot like the late 80s and early 90s F-150 had just without the step. That last part could probably be fixed with a little fiberglass, and a few well placed supports.

Like these?

Yes like those just with the bed narrowed so they look like a step side. Of course I'd have to mold them to the bed and shave the lights. Possibly a little other tweaking as well but that's be a starting point.
