So here is my plan i have a 96 ranger super cab 4.0 5 speed i want to do the higher compression build with 93tm pistons and 95th heads but i was wondering if i could make it a bit easier and buy a good running 93 engine and put some 95tm heads on it And put that in my 96 would this work or would the blocks be too different

That would work, they will bolt on, but you need to double check piston to valve clearance as a precaution, and with a compression ratio north of 10:1 you'll need to run premium fuel...

Ok thank you and yes I was aware of the issues id have with high compression I was thinking this of doing a set up with 93tm pistons 95tm heads and the comp 410 cam as my truck isnt a race truck just looking for good power.

Not to threadjack, but how does the ECU handle that much of a compression change?

The knock sensor. When it detects knock it pulls out timing...

i didn't think the 4.0 ohv had a knock sensor?
