Do I really need to move the "Y-pipe" out of the way to remove the tranny ? It seems there maybe enough room to remove the tranny & I really dont want to mess with unbolting the pipe at the manifolds :icon_confused:. Any feedback is appreciated.

I have a 93 3.0 5 speed you can get away without unbolting the y pipe if and only if you unbolt the back four cab mounts and jack the body up to give you the clearance needed if you do not you will never clear the lip on the upper firewall.

I had the 5spd out of my 93 xlt many many many times and never had to unbolt the cab or mess with the y pipe. This is true even before I added the BL.

I just cut the pipe :)

After trying for 20 minutes - I thought f#%k it , just cut it & reweld it tomorrow. Kudos to the guys who get it out without messing with the pipe. 2 bolts in & it's lying on the crossmember. We will finish it up tomorrow. I told my son - It will take longer to bleed the slave cylinder - than it will to finish the bolts & welding.:icon_twisted: Have a good day guys. Work comes early :icon_welder:.
