Would a cracked flywheel cause a rock rattling in a tin can noise when starting out then go away as the drive went on ?
Its worse when rpms increase when I set out then it just seems to go away until the truck rest turned off for a good while. Then when I start back out it acts up again...

I am at whits end here. I just replaced the clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing and slave cylinder.

it seems like it would. if it's a 2wd you cfould take that tranny out in an hour or so and check it out. something on the underside of the truck could be loose aswell

If I wasn't working on the ground by my self and the the damned trans to block brackets and the two top bolts weren't such a pita then you'd be right but its about 3.5 hours in and out for me alone though.

I'll pull it this weekend and check her out again.
Have to figure a way to get the fill plug out to. I went to drain the old ATF and fill her up with fresh today and was unpleasantly to find out the fill plug has been rounded pretty good. I figured it was a little low and I would be able to see if I over filled it from the top down and way so I added a little through the top in the cab.
I "may" have over filled by .5 to 1 quart though. NO damage can be cause in a manual trans by over filling can it ?
The truck is not being used now while I figure out the problems..
