Sound familiar?

So far I have checked all fuses that may have caused fuel to stop flowing to engine and all appear to be in working order. The inertial fuel shut off has not been tripped. The fuel pump sounds like it kicks on for a few seconds so it appears to be getting power. Sprayed carb cleaner directly into carb, then sprayed a little gas and it still will not cough or fire. I havent pulled the spark plugs yet and have not checked fuel pressure but I will update as soon as i'm done tackling the issue tomorrow. Any feedback would be very helpful in the troubleshooting list. :icon_confused::icon_confused:

My B2 has all 93 Ranger engine and electrical 4.0 though.I had these symptoms and the main feed wire that went onto the fuse box got loose.Evidently while cranking it didn't have enough voltage to run the fuel pump cause it worked fine when I turned on the key but not cranking.

No spark, i don't have the required tools to test other components in the vehicle nor do i have the money to throw multiple parts at it, chock this up as a loss guys. Rest In Peace my beloved Ranger!

Check the Schraeder valve on the fuel rail (it'll look like the same type of valve on your tires). Using a rag, depress the valve with a small screwdriver. If you get fuel, then fuel is not your problem. If you are not getting fuel, change out your fuel filter; it probably needs changed.

Next, check your plugs and wires. First, pull the plugs and make sure they aren't fouled (the gap in the plug isn't bridged somehow). Next, if the plug is all right, put it back into the engine (it should be a brown to grayish-tan color, with the electrode not looking too worn or broken). Before putting the wire back onto the plug, check the wire by holding it 1/4" above a good ground. Have a helper attempt to crank the truck. If you get a good, well-defined blue spark as the engine is cranking, then the wire is getting power. If you don't get power, the next step is to check the ignition coils with a multimeter. If the resistance of the coil is out of spec, replace it. If the coil checks out, take off and have the ignition module checked. If that is bad, replace it. If the ignition coil checks out, check the wiring at the ignition switch itself (inside of the steering column). If the wiring at the switch looks corroded, clean it up as best you can and see if you can then start the truck. Also, check and make sure that your battery and terminals are clean; a corroded system there can cause the truck to not start.

Other than that, the last thing that would have to be checked is that your Crank Position Sensor. If that is bad, the engine won't receive the signal it needs to fire the spark plugs.

If you have not changed the cam belt in a long time its possiable that its jumped time ( kind of rare), if it was snapped you could tell by the sound when cranking the engine, starting fluid is better than carb clean for checking out no fuel, do the easy free stuff first check connections make sure there tight and clean inside, when you have a spark plug out clamp it to a ground source and have some one crank the engine, check gap for color spark as said above Dont give up?
