How do I check the ground and relay I have a multimeter but I'm not experienced in operating it I can learn quickly but not to many videos demonstrating how to use it to test sensor and ground in vehicles

Does anyone know what that blue wire is going to and if that would cause my crank no start the blue wire next to the green.
Update the codes it is currently giving me is 556 and the recent 159.

Is this a 4 wheel drive? Not sure the color of the wires> Are they solid brown, blue and green or do they have stripes of white?
I'm not really sure what area of the vehicle this pic is showing. I think it is of the transfer case. If that is correct, then I don't think this would cause a "no start" issue. If I am wrong, others will be sure to let us know.

If you are chasing electrical issue - which you seem to be doing - you might consider getting an Electrical and Vacuum Troubleshooting Manual. You can find them on Ebay.

The images that EricB posted for you earlier in this string are taken from the manual. It is very helpful.

566(O) transmission 3/4 shift solenoid/circuit – Transmissions

629(O,M) Torque Converter Clutch circuit fault – Transmissions

Shot in the dark here , but those two codes you posted earlier in this string could be related to this wiring issue....
Where was the vehicle parked?
I admire your fortitude. The mice had a great time.. o_O

for sure there could be a driver issue with the pcm due to the short. if it can not run the injectors no start.

with no maf hooked up at all it should still start and run or at least try to.. so keep the maf disconnected and see if that causes it to try and start. a bad maf can actually keep it from starting.

the pcm still is functioning just possible those drivers are toast and it does not have a way to tell you that.....or it could just be po\pped caps or something easily fixable.

at this point i would recheck that all of the wiring is at least not shorted and try a different ecm.

the trans codes are why i suspect the factory hammer solder branch may have overheated and failed and the computer is not seeing power on the solo side of the trans and no power to the injectors will also cause a no start.

thing is that should have popped a fuse. so back to rats chewing it up.

verify power to proper side of injector. verify continuity from ground side of injector to pin 58 and 59. verify power to transmission.
