93 F350 5.8 (351) Overheating

OK,

So, the gaskets on the front end needed to be replaced (block side started to leak anti-freeze between block, & timing chain cover, PIA !!), did the timing chain and gears, & front seal, & harmonic balancer, AND NEW waterpump (NOT a rebuild). Quite sure that the reason the gasket went, is because of constant over pressure all the time on a 13 Lb. rad cap (needed to constantly add antifreeze about once a week, prior to work being done). SINCE all of this was done, NOW it doesn't leak, BUT it constantly Pukes into the over flow (And I mean everytime it is shut-off, no, load, no high rev's, simple driving, go to work, shut it off... 10 seconds later I can hear it puking into the overflow... (even with the hood down).

SO, I went and got a new fan-cluch, AND a dual core radiator (original was a single row 1/2 full, new one is full cores), "Trailer special" radiator..... BIG Bucks.... System is full of 50/50 mix....

ANY Ideas ?????? PLEASE, someone this is driving me NUTS !

Just cause its puking into the overflow dont mean its hot.

It means you probably overfilled it. Coolant expands when hot, it pukes into the overflow then when everything cools off the vacuum created by the contracting fluid level draws the excess coolant from the tank back into the radiator.

Does the gauge read hot?

The Guage, reads just under the N in "Normal", OK, I'll go with that for while, let it puke, until it stabilizes, measure, then give it a week, and see if it is falling. We will see...

Thats roughly where my 97 F250 HD with a 460 sits, i think youre fine.

UPDATE:

So, after all of this:

Resolution:

Replaced the radiator with a "Dual Core" HD Towing version (original was a single core), Replaced the Fan Clutch (Biggest Change in Temperature), Thermostat is still a 192 F , As an additional detail, removed the stock trans Cooler, and did NOT hook the internal trans-cooler in the radiator back together, running only an aftermarket HD HUGE trans cooler with a 1 inch space between the Rad, and the t-cooler (T-Cooler is in front of the rad).

As an added "test", hooked the 35 foot goose-neck Flat Deck up, and transported 10 HUGE 1500 pound round bales 35 Miles..... Temp never went over the "N" in normal, Trans bounced between 54 F and 158 F when climbing a steep hill at 60 mph. PROBLEM SOLVED.
