93 Explorer v8 swap

I'm thinking of putting a v8 in my 93 explorer. I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea of average cost and what might be the best donor vehicle. My explorer is a 93 xl 4x4 with the 4.0L and a manual 5 speed tranny. I think I'd like to stick with efi but maybe go with an auto tranny with overdrive.

Also when I said v8 I was thinking 5.0 and I don't know if it makes a difference or not but my transfer case is manual shift.
