93-97 Ranger Specs 98-112hp?

Anyone know why the hp specs usually say 98-112hp?
Do some 2.3 models have 98hp and others 112?
Or for some reason they were not able to accuratley measure the hp?

Check out this page in the Tech Library. It lists the torque and HP ratings for all of the 4 banger engines.

earlier yrs like 85 to 90 were 98hp. later yrs 95 to 97 were 112hp. look on the history of the 2.3 on this forum it will tell you.
