I was looking at my 93 2wd Ext Cab 4.0 the other day and measured about 3" difference between the front and rear. The front being lower. Is this much rake normal? I have been looking at the threads about using a spacer under the front springs but I wonder if my springs are sagging. What can I take springs from to replace mine if they are? If I do the 2" lift spacer on the front, do I use a stock shock or one from a 4WD? I would like for the truck to sit more level. Any help or advice is appreciated.

Yes. it has a factory 2in block in the rear and more that likely sagged front coils which would probably net around 3in difference.

you can do the factory spacer found in the tech section or use 2wd f150 coils but it will ride rough. ready through the budget lifts in the tech section

Thanks for the reply. I haven't looked but does the 2wd have a spacer in the rear? I had planned on useing the washers to lift it 1 1/2" to 2" but I might start with new springs first. FYI, I called my local Ford dealership and he told me the stock spacers mentioned in the tech article were not available. What springs interchange with mine (other than the f150's)? If newer springs work I might have a better chance not getting weak ones like mine. Of course I could use new ones but where is the fun in that? Besides does anyone know of a supplier? And my last question, If I lift it 2" do I need to get 4wd shocks or will stock 2wd shocks work?

You will need longer shocks but 4wd shocks won't work. I run Rancho shocks up front designed for 2" lift. On my truck there is no rear block but yours may be different. Right now I have 2" spacer in front with stock coils and it still has a slight rake from the worn coils. They have leveling coils which I tried but actually I got more lift from the spacers. You're best and easiest bet for coils would probably be direct replacements fir your application.

Coil "spacers" are junk. They either crack in to a million pieces or will smoosh down to nothing and mess up your alignment.

Spend the extra money and buy some 2" "leveling" coils and two (3degree?) alignment cams.

When mine was 2wd, I tried everything and those gave me the best results.
After eating through a few pairs of BFG A/T tires, I learned the hard way.

Yeah I kind of agree about the spacers. I'm hoping mine are temporary till I can afford a skyjacker lift which will temporary till I can afford a camburg haha. I needed them to clear the tires though. The f150 spacers are steel though. And thanks for bringing up camber aadjustment. Forgot all about that.

Thanks guys. Gives me a lot to think about. The comments about the spacers are interesting. And nobody, even in the tech articles mentioned the cam adjusters needed when lifting it 2" in the front. Fact is, I think it said that no front end alignment was required on a 2wd with 2" or less. I am going to re-read the articles. I might have missed something.

Camber adjustment will absolutely be needed. You need one anytime you lift these trucks pretty much. As for the spacers, they might not be ideal but I haven't had any issues with mine.
