'92 ranger tranny problems.

My '92 ranger with a 2.3 and 5 speed leaks fluid like a beast. My trans shop told me that those transmissions have 3 little plastic or rubber plugs in the case and that these transmissions are famous for leaking from those spots. She also whines like the dickens except for in 4th gear. Last transmission did the exact same thing. I have looked for those plugs but cant find them. Anyone had problems like this with your truck?
