This probably sounds really stupid but i have had this truck 2 years and have replaced the shackles and perches on the back springs. Well, I noticed that my truck was sitting lower on the drivers side. I figured it was a shock. I dont have any experience with suspension, just engines. Well, i was looking at how easy it would be to replace the shocks and noticed that the passenger side had 4 leafs and the drivers had 2 leafs. I was like WHAT! Well, does anyone know of how many they are supposed to have and could i just put the "add a leafs" on and add 2 leafs to the drivers side. Thanks.

Shocks wont change ride height at all.

Most older rangers had 3-leaf springs, 2-active 1-overload. Newer ones tend to have 4-leaf springs, 3-active 1-overload.

You could add leafs, but the problem with that is finding one that is the same length and thichness as the ones in the other pack.

If it were me, I'd just swap them out for a set from a junkyard and call it a day.

yeah, what he said

Thanks guys. I think thats what i will do. I have a friend that has 3 or 4 junked explorers but he lives about 45 minutes away. Does the explorer have the same amount of leafs?

Explorers generally have 4 leaves (3 + OL), although there are a few fiberglass monoleaf ones out there (stay away).

Explorer springs will give you about a 1.5-2" lift. If that's not what you want, then I would instead look for a set of Ranger springs for yours.

I just put a set of explorer springs under mine to lift it to match the front 4" kit. I used the explorer top leaf and weaved my rangers pack into it plus an add a leaf and both overloads for a total of 6 leafs one aal and 2 overloads. rides like a 1 ton but sits alittle higher in the rear with only the factory block

^^ damn talk about rough ride. i have explorer leafs in my truck 4 pack gave me 3 inches of lift and better flex. i like the ride with the explorer leafs esp with a load
