92 gauge cluster swap

Hey guys, i have a 92 ranger XLT and i'm wanting to do a gauge cluster swap. The gauges going in the ranger are from a '94 explorer. I've been told that the swap is fairly simple, but is there anything that needs to be changed in the ranger for the new gauges, since the ranger does not have a tach and the explorer does. Thanks!

It won't work without modification. Physically they are the same but the cluster pinouts are different. See this:
