So, I will start off with a little backstory on this 92 Explorer. Had cracked head and replaced both. everything ran good. Started getting some issues with the way it ran. Ended up buying a code reader and getting codes for TPS, MAF, o2 etc in the continuous memory. I cleared the memory and drove it for a week for a frest start. on KOEO I got a pass code 111, as well as continuous memory. checked that the ECU control the timing. The KOER codes came back to a 998 running in limp mode due to TPS failure. Replaced TPS. all is well for a few days.
Over the last couple weeks I have run codes on several occassions. last two recordings are as followed. KOEO 111; Continuous 111; KOER 111. Today's recording KOEO 111; Continuous 181, 185, 186, 187; KOER 111
181 being 02 sensor
185 being maf
186 injector pulse width too high
187 injector pulse width too low
My brain tells me something is odd being 3 or 4 codes at once. I am tryin to figure out what the issue boils down to instead of throwing random parts. I cleaned MAF. I have used the original one from 92 explorer as well as a 94 ranger(4.0) MAF. As for testing codes 186 and 187, I am clueless. o2 sensor is self explanitory.
On a side note. I have noticed over the last month and a half (after head replacement) more blue smoke on idle and low load conditions ( dont see my blue tail after 35 mph or so) I would have to assume that the piston rings are worn causing blowby. Trying to figure out how new of a 4.0 OHV longblock I can use as a drop in.
