ok im 16 and know pretty much enough and have enough help to do the whole engine swap
i just dont know what tranny and rear end and stuff like that i need
what should i know about motor mounts
the 302 is out of a ford mustang
and is there any transmissions that bolt up to the 302 and a ranger or would i have to make new mounts for that
i was thinking about a dana 60 rear end
the dana 60 is out of a 96 dodge 2500 2wd so i guess i gotta make new mounts for sure

so let me know

the d60 is way too wide for a ranger, find a 96+ explorer and swap in that axle, it'll hold up to most anything you can throw at it, and you will benefit from the disc brakes as well. It's about 75% bolt in, 90% if you have or are lowering your truck. Plus its the same lug pattern, within tolerances on width (only 1.5" wider total) and has a factory LS

If you have the 4.0L in your truck, I'd just use the rear end you have now. Take your time to do a search on all the info in this section for trans options and motor mounts.

I would but a lot more work than the bolt in Ranger. With a 4x2 you sure could get by with that rear end up to 400+ hp.

It's apparent here to me that you do not know enough. Begin by reading the "sticky's" above your thread. When you're done, do a search and read some more. when you're done with that, then come back and ask away.
