I couldn't find anything in the Tech Library, and I hope this is the right place to post. Anyhoo, is it worth rebuilding the starter or should I just buy a rebuilt. I'm not worried about how technical it is (I'm dumb enough to try anything). I just don't want to spend $ if its not worth it.

There is nothing wrong with what you are wanting to do. That is the best way to learn. The most you will probably find wrong with the motor is the brushes are worn out. Check with your local auotparts store and see if they can get you a set of brushes. The grooves where the brushes ride need to be cleaned as well, I usually take a hack saw blade to them and just run it over gently.

the starters are stupid easy to repair, i've done a few

i would like if some one could do a write up on it that would help out the ranger station allot
