I have a 90 ranger that iv just done a 302 swap on got everything hooked up but now it will not turn over with the key & I have no power to the radio all the lights /gauges still work, checked all my fuses I can turn the motor over if I jump tbe solenoid with a wrench , the solenoid is brAndnew also so I'm thinking it may a bad ignition switch , but I have no idea were the switch is located on my 88 ranger it's quickly found on the side of the steering column

You just said that you found the ignition switch on the side of the steering column but then asked where it was located??

The ignition switch for the 88 Ranger should have a single black wire going into it, follow that wire and you will find your connection.

I'm sayying I can't find the switch on my 90 ranger , but on my 88 its on the column haha, I have 2 rangers

It's going to be on the column. Wherever the key is cycled is where it will be. Keep looking. It's there somewhere

When you turn the key, does it move a rod ? If so the switch could be at the other end of that rod
